HYDROGEOLOGICAL DRILLING
Stick up monitoring well installed according to Reg 903
PVC pipe installed into the ground, in accordance with Ontario's Regulation 903, is used to isolate a water bearing formation with the purpose of determining the hydrostatic level of an aquifer - where water pressure meets atmospheric pressure or otherwise a water table. This is useful to determine the characteristics of the water table as well as ground water mapping.
Monitoring wells are also installed for monitoring the quality and behaviour of the water table. It can be sampled at anytime to investigate for contaminations within the water table as well as the flow of the contamination.
As stewards of the Earth, Determination Drilling & Soil Investigations take pride in our part of the well installation by properly filtering the screen with silica sand and grouting the riser so that no surface contamination will enter. We carry 1", 1.5" and 2" PVC pipe and are able to install cluster wells or deep wells through multiple water tables with no cross contamination, using a variety of grouting methods.
We have a different piece of equipment for every situation, however our sampling techniques generally include split spoon, shelby tube or auger samples.
